Uniguest has released version 26.3 of its Hub AV software, introducing SRT stream ingest for low-latency distribution of broadcast feeds within sports venues. The update also adds integration for Major League Baseball data visualizations and Microsoft OneDrive support to enhance digital signage and interactive TV management.
The addition of SRT ingest addresses the growing demand for low-latency, multi-feed video distribution within complex stadium environments. By centralizing IPTV, digital signage, and real-time Major League Baseball data, Uniguest is positioning its platform as a critical operational layer for venue owners seeking to monetize hospitality suites and concourse screens. This move reflects a broader industry shift toward data-rich, interactive viewing experiences that bridge the gap between live action and digital content. Watch for whether these low-latency SRT capabilities become a standard requirement for all large-scale venue IPTV RFP processes in 2027.
The Secure Reliable Transport protocol has become the de facto standard for low-latency video contribution across live-event and broadcast environments, with major technology vendors and venue operators adopting it at scale. In early 2026, Haivision reported that SRT had surpassed 5,000 registered deployments across broadcast, sports, and enterprise video workflows, a milestone that underscores how the protocol moved from a niche contribution tool to a foundational transport layer for multi-feed distribution. Uniguest's decision to build SRT ingest directly into Hub AV reflects that broader industry momentum, positioning the platform alongside larger broadcast-infrastructure players that already treat SRT as a baseline capability.
The competitive landscape for venue IPTV and digital signage is intensifying as operators demand tighter integration between live feeds, data overlays, and hospitality monetization. Nokia announced in June 2026 that it was combining with AWS and Databricks to build a unified telco AI control layer, signaling that even network-equipment giants are moving into the orchestration and automation space that venue-focused platforms like Uniguest occupy at the edge. Meanwhile, Ericsson launched its AI in RAN commercial software subscription on June 11, claiming up to 20% higher downlink throughput across more than 15 live deployments, illustrating how network-side intelligence is converging with the kind of low-latency delivery that venue IPTV systems depend on. For Uniguest, the implication is that venue operators will increasingly expect their IPTV platforms to interoperate with AI-driven network optimization layers rather than operating as isolated systems.
On the technical side, SRT's performance characteristics make it particularly suited to the multi-feed, low-latency scenarios that Uniguest targets. Ericsson's strategy positions the network as an intelligent fabric where uplink traffic could triple over the next five years, driven by real-time video and persistent sensor streams, a trend that directly benefits venue environments distributing multiple simultaneous camera angles and data overlays to hundreds of endpoints. The protocol's built-in forward error correction and adaptive bitrate recovery over lossy networks give venue operators a transport layer that can handle the RF interference and congestion typical of packed stadiums without requiring dedicated fiber backhaul for every feed. As MLB and other leagues push richer real-time data integrations into fan-facing displays, the combination of SRT transport and API-driven data visualization that Uniguest ships in version 26.3 aligns with where the broader broadcast-infrastructure market is heading.
