FOR-A has integrated native control for Canon PTZ cameras into its software-defined MixBoard production switcher. This integration allows operators to manage camera movements, presets, and tallies directly from the switcher interface to reduce hardware footprint in live production environments.
This integration addresses the growing demand for consolidated production environments where space and energy consumption are critical constraints. By embedding PTZ control into the MixBoard switcher, FOR-A reduces the reliance on standalone hardware, lowering the total cost of ownership for small-to-mid-sized studios. Within the broader streaming ecosystem, this move reflects a shift toward software-defined workflows that prioritize interoperability between best-of-breed hardware vendors. As COTS computer costs fluctuate, reducing the number of peripheral devices becomes a strategic advantage for budget-conscious broadcasters. Watch for whether this partnership expands to include automated tracking features or deeper AI-driven camera management within the MixBoard software suite.
