Magna Systems IP convergence to bridge broadcast and pro AV workflows

The integration of broadcast-grade IP transport with professional AV environments reflects a broader industry shift toward unified content ecosystems. By demonstrating interoperability between SRT, NDI, and ST 2110, Magna Systems addresses the technical friction often found when bridging legacy SDI infrastructure with modern cloud-based distribution. This convergence allows organizations to repurpose live content for social media and digital signage more efficiently using tools like ACTUS Clip Pro. As streaming and traditional broadcast technologies merge, the ability to monitor diverse signal types in a single pane of glass becomes a operational necessity. Watch for how quickly mid-market AV firms adopt these high-end broadcast protocols to support remote production.

The convergence of broadcast-grade IP transport with professional AV environments is gaining momentum across the Asia-Pacific region, where events like Integrate serve as key meeting points for hybrid workflow adoption. TAG Video Systems has expanded its monitoring and distribution platform to support ST 2110, SRT, and NDI simultaneously, positioning itself as a bridge between traditional broadcast and IP-native production. TAG's MCM platform was highlighted at IBC 2025 for its ability to monitor diverse signal types across hybrid IP environments, reflecting the same multi-protocol approach Magna Systems will demonstrate in Sydney. Open Broadcast Systems, another partner in the Magna Systems showcase, has similarly pushed open-standards-based routing and signal processing to reduce vendor lock-in in mixed broadcast and AV installations.

On the business side, the pro AV market in Australia and the broader APAC region is experiencing consolidation as integrators seek broadcast-grade capabilities. Techex announced in early 2026 that it had expanded its distribution partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region, targeting mid-market broadcasters and enterprise AV customers who need IP transport without full broadcast infrastructure budgets. This mirrors the strategy Magna Systems is pursuing by bundling partners like Arkona and ACTUS into unified workflow demonstrations. ACTUS Clip Pro, which enables automated clipping and social media distribution from live feeds, addresses a specific pain point for organizations that produce broadcast content but lack dedicated digital teams. The broader trend of AV-over-IP adoption is also being driven by enterprise demand for centralized content management, with Canara and LundHalsey among the console and furniture manufacturers adapting their products for hybrid broadcast-AV control rooms.

From a technical standpoint, the shift from SDI to IP in production environments is creating measurable performance benchmarks that inform purchasing decisions. Miri Technologies reported that its Miri V410 and Miri X510 encoders achieved sub-frame latency in SRT transport tests conducted at a European broadcast facility in late 2025, a result relevant to Magna Systems' demonstration of low-latency remote production workflows. Polecam's compact camera systems, also part of the Magna Systems showcase, have been adopted for where IP-native output eliminates the need for SDI-to-IP conversion at the source. The RTS intercom integration demonstrated alongside these products addresses the coordination challenge inherent in distributed IP production, where talent and crew communication must traverse the same IP fabric as video and audio signals.
