Mo-Sys Engineering has appointed Selin Kemal as managing director and relocated its headquarters to a new three-story facility in Canada Water, London. The new site includes a presentation theatre equipped with the company's virtual production, camera robotics, and real-time AR processing technology for corporate and broadcast applications.
The promotion of Selin Kemal allows founder Michael Geissler to pivot toward long-term R&D, suggesting the company is prioritizing technical differentiation as virtual production matures. By establishing a high-spec facility in London's business district, Mo-Sys is actively diversifying its revenue beyond traditional film and TV into the high-end corporate communications market. This move reflects a broader industry trend where broadcast-grade AR and robotics are becoming standard for investor relations and live events. Watch for the October TEDx event to serve as a benchmark for how the company scales its real-time processing tools for non-technical corporate users.
Mo-Sys has been building momentum in the virtual production and broadcast technology space through strategic partnerships and product deployments. The company's StarTracker camera tracking system has become a standard tool in LED volume stages and broadcast studios across Europe and North America. In early 2025, Mo-Sys partnered with disguise to integrate its tracking technology into disguise's virtual production workflow, enabling real-time camera tracking data to feed directly into disguise's rendering pipeline for LED wall productions. This integration positioned Mo-Sys as a key infrastructure provider for studios adopting in-camera visual effects workflows, competing with tracking solutions from Ncam and Stype. The Canada Water facility move aligns with a broader trend of virtual production companies establishing dedicated showcase spaces to attract corporate clients who may not have traditional broadcast engineering teams.
On the business side, the virtual production market has seen significant consolidation and investment activity that contextualizes Mo-Sys's expansion. Brompton Technology, a fellow London-based broadcast technology company, was acquired by Sony in 2024 to strengthen its position in LED volume processing and virtual production infrastructure. Meanwhile, Epic Games has continued to invest in Unreal Engine's virtual production toolset, releasing Unreal Engine 5.5 with enhanced ICVFX features in late 2024, raising the bar for real-time rendering quality that hardware vendors like Mo-Sys must support. These moves signal that the virtual production supply chain is maturing rapidly, with both platform providers and hardware specialists racing to lock in studio and corporate relationships before the market consolidates further.
From a technical standpoint, Mo-Sys's StarTracker system competes in a camera tracking market where precision and latency are the primary differentiators. Stype, a Norwegian tracking company, demonstrated its RedSpy and StarTracker-compatible solutions at IBC 2025, highlighting sub-millimeter accuracy claims for broadcast and virtual production applications. The competitive pressure on tracking accuracy has intensified as LED volumes grow larger and camera movements become more complex, requiring tighter synchronization between physical camera position and rendered virtual environments. Mo-Sys's decision to equip its new Canada Water theatre with both its tracking hardware and real-time AR processing suggests the company is positioning itself as a full-stack provider rather than a component supplier, a strategy that mirrors how Cartoni Lambda 15 nodal head debuts for virtual production workflows and Zero Density have evolved from single-product companies into integrated virtual production platforms.
Mo-Sys Engineering has promoted Selin Kemal to managing director, allowing founder Michael Geissler to focus on R&D. The company also opened a new London headquarters in Canada Water. This expansion into a high-spec facility signals a strategic shift toward serving the corporate communications market alongside traditional film and broadcast sectors.
Selin Kemal has been promoted from commercial director to managing director of Mo-Sys.
Michael Geissler remains CEO but has narrowed his focus to R&D and new innovation concepts.
The new Mo-Sys headquarters is located in a three-story facility in Canada Water, London.
The facility is scheduled to host its first major public demonstration during a TEDx event in October 2026.
