LiveU and Panasonic Lumix have launched the 'Live Anywhere' production workflow, a mobile-first system integrating Lumix cameras with LiveU's IP bonding technology. The solution is designed to enable professional live streaming for sports and news without the need for traditional broadcast infrastructure or satellite trucks.
This collaboration lowers the barrier to entry for professional-grade live streaming by replacing expensive satellite trucks with compact, bonded cellular hardware. For the streaming ecosystem, it signals a shift toward decentralized production where small teams can deliver high-bitrate, cinematic content from remote locations previously limited by connectivity. By combining phase autofocus and shallow depth of field with reliable IP transmission, the solution bridges the gap between social media creators and traditional news gathering. Watch for Broadfield Distributing sales data to see if mid-tier sports leagues and regional news outlets adopt these turnkey kits as their primary field production standard.
LiveU has demonstrated the scalability of its IP bonding approach at the highest levels of live sports. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, LiveU logged its largest-ever deployment with LU800 and LU900Q field units running LiveU IQ (LIQ) connectivity, covering prematch briefings, training sessions, press conferences, in-stadium editorial positions, fan zones, and independent creator streams. The deployment validated the same bonded-cellular philosophy underlying the Live Anywhere production workflow: replacing fixed infrastructure with portable, network-aggregated transmission that adapts in real time to congested RF environments. The business model supporting these deployments is shifting toward cloud-based production and managed connectivity services. LiveU provided all rental units with Mobile Data as default during the tournament, eliminating the need for international crews to source local SIM cards, while cloud infrastructure allowed broadcasters to expand their camera footprint without adding on-site hardware. Gideon Gilboa, LiveU's chief business officer and general manager of the Americas, noted that shifting heavy infrastructure to the cloud let customers capture more angles and maximize ROI without compromising broadcast quality. This cloud-first approach mirrors the Live Anywhere workflow's goal of reducing field equipment to a single camera and bonding unit. Performance benchmarks from the World Cup deployment underscore why LiveU is positioning its technology for smaller-scale productions like Live Anywhere. Broadcasters using LIQ during the tournament achieved up to 35% higher average bitrates and near-zero packet loss in congested stadium environments, where each venue hosted more than 40,000 fans per match and the final drew 80,000. LIQ's predictive network analysis dynamically prioritizes and load-balances cellular connections, a capability that directly addresses the crowded-venue challenges the Live Anywhere workflow targets for sports and news operators working without dedicated connectivity. The LU800 handled up to four simultaneous video sources in some configurations, demonstrating that a single bonded unit can serve as a compact mobile newsroom. As these remote production workflows continue to evolve, the reliance on 5G bonding will likely become the standard for untethered broadcast.
