Dharma Productions' romantic drama "Chand Mera Dil" is set to stream on Jio Hotstar after its May 2026 theatrical release. The streaming partner was confirmed by the theatrical opening credits, indicating an ongoing content pipeline between Bollywood studios and premium SVOD platforms in India. While no official date is confirmed, the film is expected to hit the platform between July 3rd and 17th, 2026.
The rapid migration of a major Bollywood film like "Chand Mera Dil" to Jio Hotstar within 6-8 weeks of theatrical release highlights the critical role SVOD platforms play in maximizing a film's lifecycle and revenue. This quick turnaround provides a secondary window for films that may have received mixed critical reviews but show audience curiosity. The confirmed streaming deal for a Dharma Productions title indicates strong ongoing relationships between India's major film studios and top-tier streaming services. Industry players should monitor the performance metrics of such quick-to-stream theatrical releases to gauge viewer appetite for accelerated digital availability and its impact on overall content consumption patterns.
