Live production specialist Brandvox has deployed Intinor’s hardware and Bifrost transport protocol to facilitate remote production of 240 Super League Basketball games for DAZN. The workflow utilizes the public internet to deliver contribution feeds from various UK arenas to a central hub, bypassing the need for dedicated fiber.
This deployment validates the use of public internet for high-volume, professional sports production, proving that proprietary transport protocols like Bifrost can replace expensive dedicated fiber links without sacrificing stability. For the broader ecosystem, it demonstrates how mid-tier sports leagues can achieve top-flight production values on tighter budgets, lowering the barrier to entry for global streaming deals with partners like DAZN. As fragmented rights markets increasingly prioritize cost-efficiency, technical stacks that offer plug-and-play scalability across variable infrastructure will become the industry standard. Watch for Intinor’s expansion into more regional European leagues as they shift toward centralized remote production hubs.
The partnership between Super League Basketball (SLB) and DAZN, announced in September 2024, represents a strategic pivot for British basketball following the termination of the British Basketball League's license. Per SVG Europe (October 2024), DAZN secured exclusive global broadcast rights to air every men’s game for free under its 'freemium' offering. This move replaced a previous arrangement where Sky Sports broadcast only 40 games per season, highlighting the league's shift toward a high-volume, digital-first distribution model managed by Brandvox and EMG / Gravity Media.
Intinor’s Bifrost Reliable Transport (BRT) protocol has increasingly gained traction for these types of high-stakes remote integrations. Per Intinor’s technical briefs (July 2026), the protocol is specifically optimized for 4K and HEVC contribution, supporting up to eight cellular connections and two LAN paths for bonding. This capability is critical for SLB venues that lack modern stadium connectivity. Similar technology has been utilized by agencies like Lagardère Sports for the ATP Tour 250 series to manage global contribution without relying on satellite paths (per TV Technology).
The wider industry trend toward Remote Integration Model (REMI) production accelerated after the pandemic, with major entities like NBC Sports and ESPN standardizing centralized workflows to reduce on-site staff costs. According to market analysis from SVG (October 2025), the shift toward internet-based contribution allows broadcasters to 'spin up' links in hours rather than days. While open standards like SRT and RIST have dominated recent interoperability discussions, proprietary protocols like Bifrost continue to be favored in closed-loop systems for their specific error correction and low-latency performance.
