Veset Nimbus connects cloud playout to AWS Media Services stack

The integration gives content owners a single-vendor path from ingest to CDN delivery without stitching together disparate tools, lowering the barrier for smaller broadcasters to launch linear OTT channels. AWS has been steadily building an ecosystem of playout partners on its Media Services stack — Amagi, Frequency, and now Veset — each targeting slightly different segments of the FAST and linear streaming market. Veset has deepened its relationship with AWS beyond the initial interoperability announcement. The company joined the AWS for Media & Entertainment initiative, which pairs both Veset Stratus and Veset Nimbus with AWS Elemental MediaLive, MediaConnect, and CloudFront to simplify linear channel creation for broadcasters migrating from on-premises or virtualized playout environments. The initiative positions Veset alongside other AWS media partners targeting the same FAST and linear OTT origination workflows that content owners increasingly need for multi-platform distribution.

Veset Nimbus became available in AWS Marketplace in May 2023, giving AWS customers a pay-as-you-go procurement path for enterprise-grade cloud playout without a separate vendor contract. The Marketplace listing supports on-demand channel creation with integrated ad-marker insertion, closed captions, and SCTE-35 signaling, which are essential for monetizing FAST channels delivered through vMVPD and OTT platforms. AWS published a detailed reference architecture for deploying Veset Nimbus on its infrastructure, covering ingest from S3, live input via MediaConnect, playlist scheduling through Veset Altos, and redundancy configurations ranging from single-instance to cross-region hot backup across multiple Availability Zones.

The reference architecture specifies output encoding in MPEG-2, AVC, or HEVC at SD, HD, or UHD resolution, with hybrid deployment options for broadcasters that need an on-premises fallback alongside cloud playout. Veset recommends full-cloud deployment for maximum redundancy and agility, but the hybrid mode addresses operators that cannot yet commit entirely to cloud-based origination. This flexibility differentiates Veset Nimbus from purely cloud-native competitors that do not offer a hybrid path, making it relevant for mid-tier broadcasters still transitioning legacy infrastructure.
