TIP Brasil is expanding its Campinas data center to 40MW capacity and developing a distributed edge network with partner ISPs to reach a total of 80MW. The company is also negotiating the deployment of a GPU farm for 2027 to support GPU-as-a-service offerings for regional providers.
This infrastructure shift allows regional ISPs to move beyond commoditized fiber sales by offering high-margin services like MVNO, private 5G, and cloud hosting. By utilizing a 'constellation' architecture, TIP Brasil provides the redundancy of a Tier III facility at the edge, where low latency is critical for emerging AI and gaming workloads. This model challenges the dominance of hyperscalers in rural Brazil by leveraging existing ISP footprints for localized data processing. Watch for the 2027 GPU farm deployment as a signal that regional providers are ready to compete in the sovereign AI infrastructure market.
The project relies on AI-driven observability to manage traffic across the distributed network, ensuring that the edge nodes maintain performance parity with centralized data centers.
TIP Brasil is expanding its Campinas data center to 40MW, serving as the core for an 80MW distributed edge network. By partnering with regional ISPs, the company enables smaller providers to offer high-margin services like private 5G and cloud hosting, challenging hyperscaler dominance in rural Brazil through localized data processing.
The facility currently operates at 10MW with capacity for 2,000 racks and is undergoing an expansion to reach 40MW.
The Babylon project aims to establish a national Wi-Fi network and create the largest wireless connectivity hub in Latin America.
TIP Brasil is currently in negotiations to deploy a GPU farm by 2027 to provide GPU-as-a-service for AI and low-latency applications.
The network allows regional ISPs to move beyond basic fiber sales by offering high-margin services like MVNO, private 5G, and cloud hosting using a redundant, Tier III-style architecture.
