SoFi Stadium has completed a major production infrastructure renovation, adding a third control room and upgrading to Ross Video TD5L switchers and XPression Tessera UHD servers. The project, integrated by Diversified, enhances the venue's capacity for simultaneous NFL productions and prepares the facility for upcoming global events including Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Summer Olympics.
The addition of a third control room and UHD-capable switching infrastructure allows SoFi Stadium to move beyond single-event limitations, enabling simultaneous high-end productions for multiple tenants and campus venues like the YouTube Theater. By standardizing on Ross Video and Evertz IP routing, the facility gains the technical redundancy required for high-stakes broadcasts like the Super Bowl. This shift toward multi-layered, interconnected production hubs reflects a broader trend in venue design where infrastructure must support 24/7 content creation rather than just game-day operations. Watch for how these spatial audio and UHD graphics upgrades influence the broadcast standards for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Ross Video has been aggressively expanding its footprint in live sports and venue production. In early 2025, Ross Video announced that its Carbonite Ultra switcher platform had been selected for multiple NFL stadium control rooms, reinforcing its position as a dominant supplier in North American sports broadcasting. The TD5L, which SoFi Stadium adopted as part of its renovation, represents the latest evolution in the company's production switcher line, offering UHD-native processing and integrated IP connectivity that align with the SMPTE ST 2110 standards increasingly required for large-scale venue deployments. Ross Video also expanded its partnership with the NFL for the 2024-2025 season, providing production technology across multiple venues and league-owned broadcasts.
The broader trend of stadium production upgrades is being driven by the convergence of major sporting events and the need for multi-tenant broadcast capability. Evertz announced in 2025 that its IP routing and signal processing platforms had been deployed in over 40 major sports venues worldwide, including several NFL stadiums preparing for Super Bowl and international tournament commitments. The company's Dreamcatcher and Ultrix Acuity platforms, both present in SoFi Stadium's stack, have become standard components in venues seeking to future-proof their infrastructure against evolving broadcast requirements. Diversified, the integrator behind SoFi Stadium's renovation, was named one of the top AV integration firms in North America by Commercial Integrator magazine in 2025, reflecting the growing complexity and scale of venue technology projects.
Technical benchmarks for venue production systems have shifted significantly as UHD and spatial audio become baseline expectations. The Sports Video Group reported in mid-2025 that more than 60% of new stadium control room builds in North America now specify UHD-native switching as a minimum requirement, up from roughly 30% just three years prior. The inclusion of d&b audiotechnik's Soundscape spatial audio system at SoFi Stadium reflects a parallel trend in venue audio, where the company reported deployments in over 25 major sports and entertainment venues globally by early 2025. These upgrades collectively position SoFi Stadium as a reference installation for the production standards expected at the 2028 Summer Olympics, where the venue will host multiple events requiring simultaneous multi-feed production capability.
SoFi Stadium has completed a major production renovation, adding a third control room and upgrading to Ross Video TD5L switchers. This expansion enables simultaneous high-end productions for the Rams and Chargers while providing the technical redundancy and UHD-capable infrastructure necessary for upcoming major events like Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Olympics.
The third control room (PCR3) was added to provide redundancy and support ancillary campus events, allowing the stadium to move beyond single-event limitations and manage simultaneous productions for multiple tenants.
The stadium installed industry-first Ross Video TD5L switching panels in its primary control rooms, which offer UHD-native processing and integrated IP connectivity.
The renovation featured technology from Ross Video, Evertz, d&b audiotechnik, Riedel Communications, and was integrated by Diversified.
The upgrades provide the UHD-capable infrastructure and multi-layered production capability required for high-stakes broadcasts, including Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Summer Olympics.
