Osee GoStream Omni 12 ISO launches with 8-channel recording for $1,975

The release of the Osee GoStream Omni 12 ISO provides a high-density input solution for live streamers who require both SDI and HDMI flexibility without the cost of high-end broadcast consoles. By integrating 8-channel ISO recording and triple-platform RTMP streaming into a sub-$2,000 unit, Osee is challenging the dominance of established players in the prosumer and mid-tier B2B production space. This shift reflects a broader industry trend toward all-in-one hardware that reduces the need for external converters and complex software-based switching rigs. Watch for how competitors like Blackmagic Design hardware adjust pricing or feature sets in their compact switcher lines to maintain market share.

Osee is a relatively new entrant in the live production hardware space, competing directly with established players like Blackmagic Design and Roland in the sub-$2,000 switcher segment. Blackmagic Design's ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, priced at $1,495, offers eight HDMI inputs with ISO recording to USB-C drives, making it the closest direct competitor in terms of input count and recording capability. Roland's V-8HD switcher occupies a similar price bracket but lacks built-in ISO recording, relying instead on external recorders for multi-channel capture. The GoStream Omni 12 ISO differentiates itself by combining both HDMI and SDI inputs in a single unit at this price point, a feature combination typically found in switchers costing significantly more. The broader market for compact production switchers has expanded rapidly as hybrid events, houses of worship, and independent creators seek affordable multi-camera solutions. Blackmagic Design reported in its 2025 fiscal year results that ATEM switcher sales grew 23% year over year, driven largely by demand from non-broadcast production environments. This growth has attracted new entrants like Osee, which appears to be targeting the gap between consumer-grade USB capture devices and professional broadcast consoles. The inclusion of CFexpress Type B storage support in the GoStream Omni 12 ISO also positions it for higher sustained write speeds compared to USB-only recording, which matters for 8-channel simultaneous capture at higher resolutions. From a technical standpoint, the GoStream Omni 12 ISO's support for simultaneous RTMP streaming to three platforms reflects the growing demand for multi-platform distribution without software encoders. 12G-SDI production switchers saw increased adoption among mid-size production teams who previously relied on OBS or vMix running on dedicated PCs. The ability to record all eight inputs independently while simultaneously streaming reduces post-production complexity for content creators who need individual camera angles for editing. Osee's pricing strategy at $1,975 undercuts comparable SDI-equipped switchers from established brands, potentially pressuring competitors to either lower prices or add features like ISO recording to their existing compact product lines.
