nanocosmos is launching a cloud-based chroma key tool for its nanoStudio platform, allowing live production environments to apply multiple backgrounds to a single ingest feed. The technology utilizes Media over QUIC (MOQ) infrastructure to support real-time compositing without increasing latency for viewers.
By shifting chroma keying to the cloud, nanocosmos addresses a core bottleneck in multi-tenant live productions. Traditionally, scaling branded environments required linear growth in physical hardware and studio space; server-side compositing decouples visual diversity from physical footprint. This move signals a broader industry transition toward replacing the fragmented WebRTC/HLS stack with Media over QUIC to achieve low-latency scale without sacrificing operational efficiency. For the B2B streaming market, this turns high-end production effects into a scalable software-as-a-service. Watch for adoption rates among live casino providers looking to onboard multiple operator brands onto existing dealer tables without duplicating local encoding racks.
The commercial availability of nanocosmos's cloud chroma key arrives as the Media over QUIC (MOQ) ecosystem reaches a critical technical baseline. Per Forasoft and nanocosmos in April 2026, the industry-wide WebTransport standard achieved "Baseline" status across all major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, and Safari 26.4. This allows MOQ-based solutions to deliver 200–300ms glass-to-glass latency without custom browser flags, a feat previously restricted to high-overhead WebRTC SFU architectures. nanocosmos, having launched its MOQ production network at IBC 2025, remains one of the few vendors—alongside Cloudflare and WINK Streaming—operating a global MOQ relay network for live traffic, per recent industry reporting from May 2026.
The strategic focus of this launch on the iGaming sector aligns with broader 2026 market shifts toward hyper-personalization and regulatory transparency. As reported by Cyber Gear in July 2026, global online gambling revenue is forecast to grow 8-10% annually through 2026, with a heavy emphasis on live dealer formats. These formats rely on visual trust; however, rising acquisition costs are forcing providers to maximize revenue from single camera feeds. Simultaneously, the company has bolstered its backend with nanoStream Control, a security layer launched in March 2026 that handles real-time token revocation and anomaly detection. These integrated enhancements indicate a trend where software-defined live video is no longer enough; B2B platforms must now provide full-stack production and security tools to compete with increasingly sophisticated cloud-native broadcast environments.
