Disney Research fellow and National Inventors Hall of Fame inductee Lanny Smoot will headline SIGGRAPH 2026. He is scheduled to address the conference, which is a leading event for computer graphics professionals.
Smoot’s headline slot gives SIGGRAPH 2026 a high-profile Disney Research voice at a conference that draws computer graphics professionals. The immediate signal is that Disney is using a recognized inventor, not a product launch, to anchor its presence. For the broader ecosystem, it underscores how closely streaming, VFX, and graphics talent remain linked through events like SIGGRAPH. The next concrete item to watch is the conference agenda around Smoot’s address and whether SIGGRAPH 2026 adds other Disney Research speakers or sessions.
