TVNewsCheck is hosting its NewsTECHForum conference on December 15, featuring industry executives from CBC, Spectrum News, and Sinclair. The event will explore technical and cultural challenges related to storycentric workflows, AI integration, and multiplatform distribution strategies.
The shift toward storycentric news workflows represents a fundamental change in how broadcasters manage the lifecycle of a news item across linear and digital platforms. By moving away from siloed production, organizations like CBC and Sinclair aim to reduce operational friction and improve content agility in a fragmented market. This transition is critical for the streaming ecosystem as it enables faster deployment to FAST and AVOD services while maintaining brand consistency. The integration of AI into these workflows suggests a move toward agentic automation for tasks ranging from ingest to multiplatform distribution. Watch for how these organizations measure the impact of vertical video optimization on viewer retention across different mobile and connected TV devices.
