Fox Television's WTTG/WDCA in Washington D.C. has implemented SMPTE ST 2110 for a new IP-based local television station. A report on this project was presented by Jim Beahn and Nikhilesh Kumar.
Fox Television’s WTTG/WDCA is a concrete example of a local station built around SMPTE ST 2110 rather than a legacy baseband workflow. That makes the project relevant to broadcasters planning IP facility builds, especially across Fox’s 28 owned-and-operated stations. The broader signal here is adoption moving from standards discussion into a live station deployment. Watch for additional details from the case study on what parts of the WTTG/WDCA workflow were implemented with ST 2110.
