Blackmagic Design has launched the Fairlight Live Audio Panel 10, a $2,415 desktop control surface designed for live broadcast audio mixing. The hardware features motorized faders, an 11.6-inch touchscreen, and SMPTE-2110 IP connectivity, integrating directly with the company's Fairlight Live software and ATEM switchers.
The release of this dedicated hardware signals a push to move professional audio mixing from software-only interfaces to tactile, low-latency physical controls in live environments. By utilizing SMPTE-2110 and 10G IP connectivity, Blackmagic Design is positioning its ecosystem as a viable, cost-effective alternative to traditional high-end broadcast consoles. This integration with ATEM switchers simplifies the signal chain for mid-market streaming productions that require complex audio routing without the footprint of a full-scale mixing desk. Watch for the adoption rate of the Fairlight Live public beta to determine if engineers are ready to transition their primary mixing workflows to this unified IP-based hardware-software stack.
This launch follows recent Blackmagic Design price increases that affected a wide range of their production hardware lineup.
