The Mauritius Turf Club Jockey Club has deployed the Zixi Platform and ZEN Master to manage live video contribution and distribution for its horse racing events. This implementation aims to provide centralized monitoring and protocol-agnostic orchestration to support the club's international content distribution goals.
This deployment highlights the increasing reliance on IP-based orchestration for high-stakes, time-critical sports like horse racing. By moving beyond simple hardware encoding to a centralized management platform, MTC Jockey Club can now manage complex international distribution without the overhead of proprietary infrastructure. For the broader streaming ecosystem, this move underscores the shift toward protocol-agnostic gateways that allow regional broadcasters to reach global audiences via diverse delivery paths. Watch for MTCJC to announce new international carriage agreements as they leverage Zixi's scalability to monetize their content in additional global markets.
Zixi has been steadily expanding its footprint in live sports contribution, particularly in horse racing and other time-critical broadcast scenarios. In early 2025, Zixi announced a partnership with the Saudi Jockey Club to deliver live racing coverage from King Abdulaziz Racetrack, marking one of its most high-profile racing deployments to date. That engagement, like the MTC Jockey Club installation, relied on ZEN Master for centralized orchestration and monitoring of multi-destination feeds. The pattern of racing organizations adopting Zixi reflects a broader trend among sports rights holders seeking low-latency, protocol-agnostic contribution without committing to a single transport standard.
On the business side, Zixi has continued to build out its partner and distribution ecosystem. Zixi was named a 2025 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award recipient for its software-defined video platform, recognizing the company's contributions to IP-based video transport at scale. The Emmy recognition followed a series of commercial wins across sports, news, and entertainment verticals. In parallel, Zixi expanded its integration with AWS Elemental MediaConnect in late 2024, giving broadcasters a managed path between Zixi's proprietary transport and AWS cloud infrastructure. These moves position Zixi as a middleware layer that can sit between legacy SDI workflows and cloud-native distribution, a capability directly relevant to organizations like MTC Jockey Club that need to reach international audiences across heterogeneous networks.
From a technical standpoint, Zixi's platform has been benchmarked against traditional satellite and fiber contribution paths for latency and reliability. Zixi reported sub-200ms glass-to-glass latency in a 2024 independent test conducted by the Video Services Forum, a figure that places it within the tolerance window required for live betting and real-time graphics overlays common in racing broadcasts. The ZEN Master control plane, which MTC Jockey Club is deploying, provides a single pane of glass for managing SRT, RIST, Zixi, and RTMP flows simultaneously, reducing the operational burden on smaller broadcast teams. For regional sports organizations with limited engineering staff, this managed IP contribution lowers the barrier to international distribution that previously required dedicated satellite uplinks or managed fiber circuits.
