USSI Global has promoted Ted Korte to the position of Chief Technology Officer to oversee engineering, technology, and managed services. Korte, who previously led the company's Media Transport Solutions Lab, will now apply his technical strategy across the firm's broader business units including digital signage and retail technology.
The elevation of Korte to CTO reflects a broader industry trend where service providers are transitioning from simple hardware installers to high-level technical consultants. By centralizing engineering under a leader with deep roots in C-band transitions and cloud monitoring, USSI Global is positioning itself to capture more complex managed services contracts as broadcasters navigate hybrid distribution models. This move aligns with the market's shift toward vendor-agnostic testing environments to mitigate risks in terrestrial IP and cloud migrations. Watch for USSI Global to integrate more audience analytics and IoT capabilities into their retail and digital signage offerings as they leverage Korte's R&D background from L3Harris and Qligent.
