Triveni Digital announced a suite of TV 3.0 solutions at SET Expo 2026, including a joint broadcast chain with MediaKind and a dynamic advertising platform with Mirakulo. These tools are designed to assist Brazilian broadcasters in managing the transition from ISDB-Tb to next-generation standards.
The launch provides a technical blueprint for Brazilian broadcasters to maintain legacy ISDB-Tb operations while simultaneously deploying advanced DTV+ services. By integrating MediaKind’s processing power with Mirakulo’s ad tech, Triveni is moving the conversation from basic signal transmission to sophisticated data-driven revenue models. This shift mirrors global trends in ATSC 3.0 adoption where the focus has moved from technical feasibility to commercial viability through addressable advertising. As the transition accelerates, the industry should monitor the performance of these integrated systems during high-profile live sports events to see if the promised operational cost reductions and ad-targeting precision materialize at scale.
Brazil's DTV+ transition is drawing significant vendor investment as broadcasters prepare for the shift from ISDB-Tb to next-generation standards. TV Globo, the country's dominant broadcaster, has been a key driver of the transition timeline. Globo's live UHD feed during the Paris 2024 Olympics ran the combined VVC+LCEVC stack at 10 Mbps over the air, demonstrating the technical feasibility of next-gen broadcast delivery to Brazilian audiences. That test underscored the urgency for equipment vendors like Triveni Digital and MediaKind to deliver integrated solutions that handle both legacy and next-gen signal chains simultaneously.
On the regulatory and standards side, Brazil's presidential decree of August 27, 2025 made DTV+ the world's first next-generation TV standard to formally require an enhancement-layer codec, creating a unique compliance landscape for vendors entering the market. V-Nova demonstrated MPEG-5 LCEVC alongside VVC for Brazil's DTV+ transition at NAB Show 2026, with more than 50 ecosystem partners including FFmpeg and Realtek signaling broad industry alignment around the Brazilian mandate. This regulatory framework means that Triveni Digital's GuideBuilder XM and StreamScope XM must support not only ATSC 3.0-style IP delivery but also the specific codec layering that DTV+ demands, differentiating the Brazilian opportunity from other next-gen TV markets.
The competitive landscape for integrated broadcast-chain solutions is intensifying as SET Expo 2026 becomes a showcase for TV 3.0 readiness. MediaKind, Triveni's integration partner in this launch, has been expanding its media processing portfolio globally. MediaKind announced its CY2025 results showing growth in its media processing and content distribution segments, reflecting sustained demand for the kind of advanced media processing that underpins Triveni's XOS Advanced Media Processor integration. Meanwhile, Mirakulo's role in the dynamic advertising layer aligns with a broader industry push toward addressable and data-driven ad insertion in broadcast environments, a capability that Brazilian regulators have explicitly encouraged as part of the DTV+ value proposition to justify the transition investment for commercial broadcasters.
