Teradek has announced the Bolt 7, a wireless video and data system that integrates a 900 MHz RF pipeline for camera control and telemetry alongside zero-delay 12G-SDI video transmission. The system supports 4K60 10-bit HDR and is scheduled to begin shipping in October 2026 with pricing starting at $5,990.
The integration of a dedicated data channel alongside zero-delay video addresses a significant bottleneck in professional production by removing the reliance on congested 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi for camera control. For live environments, this allows engineers to manage Sony or Cyanview RCP telemetry and video shading through a single wireless link, reducing hardware footprint in OB trucks. While the 900 MHz data function lacks backward compatibility with older units, the system maintains video compatibility with Bolt 4K and Bolt 6 ecosystems to protect existing infrastructure investments. Watch for how quickly DITs and live broadcast engineers adopt the unified 900 MHz pipeline to replace standalone routers on set.
Teradek has launched the Bolt 7, a wireless system integrating zero-delay 12G-SDI video with a dedicated 900 MHz RF channel for telemetry. By eliminating the need for separate WiFi networks for camera management, this hardware streamlines professional production workflows and reduces the equipment footprint required for live broadcast and remote camera control.
