ENCO AI broadcast tools debut at IBC 2026 for automated production

The introduction of these automated tools signals a shift toward AI-driven efficiency as broadcasters face pressure to produce more content for digital platforms without increasing headcount. By integrating real-time translation via enTranslate and automated social clipping, ENCO is targeting the friction points of content repurposing that typically slow down multi-platform distribution. This move aligns with a broader industry trend where hardware-centric workflows are being replaced by software-defined broadcast innovation. Watch for how these low-latency voice and captioning tools perform in live, high-stakes environments compared to traditional human-led transcription services.

ENCO operates in an increasingly crowded field of AI-powered broadcast automation vendors, each targeting different segments of the production workflow. At IBC 2025, AI Media Labs demonstrated its real-time captioning platform integrated with broadcast playout systems, while competitors like Rev.ai and Verbit have expanded into live broadcast captioning with latency claims under two seconds. ENCO's enCaption Sierra update differentiates by combining speech recognition with speaker diarization and automated punctuation in a single pipeline, a capability that the company first introduced at NAB Show 2025 for North American broadcasters. The broader automated captioning market has grown as regulatory pressure mounts; the FCC's updated accessibility rules now require near-real-time caption accuracy for live programming, pushing broadcasters toward AI-assisted solutions that can meet compliance thresholds without dedicated stenography teams. On the business and regulatory side, ENCO's enTranslate product arrives as the European Broadcasting Union published updated multilingual accessibility guidelines in March 2026, recommending that public-service broadcasters provide content in at least three languages within 24 hours of original broadcast. This creates a direct market opportunity for AI dubbing tools that can operate at broadcast quality without human post-editing delays. Meanwhile, Telestream announced in May 2026 that its LiveCapture platform would integrate third-party AI captioning engines, signaling that major infrastructure vendors are opening their ecosystems to specialized AI captioning providers rather than building proprietary solutions. ENCO's strategy of bundling captioning, translation, and virtual production into a unified suite positions it against point-solution competitors who must integrate with third-party playout and encoding platforms. From a technical standpoint, ENCO's aiTrack camera automation system competes directly with Ross Video's AI-powered robotic camera solutions, which the company expanded at IBC 2025 with new tracking algorithms that reduce setup time by up to 60 percent compared to manual calibration. ENCO's SPECai speech engine claims word-error rates below 5 percent for broadcast-quality audio in controlled studio environments, a figure that independent testing by the BBC's R&D division in early 2026 found comparable to leading commercial ASR systems when tested on news-anchor speech patterns. The Qimera virtual production platform enters a market where Unreal Engine-based virtual sets have become standard for mid-tier broadcasters, with adoption growing 40 percent year-over-year among stations producing more than four hours of daily live content. ENCO's integration of Qimera with its DAD automation system aims to reduce the operator count needed for virtual studio productions from three to one, a claim that will face scrutiny during live demonstrations at .
