Cerberus Tech has updated its Livelink platform to include atomic orchestration, a feature designed to automate the provisioning, monitoring, and security of live IP video workflows. The update aims to reduce manual configuration tasks for broadcast engineers by treating all workflow resources as a single operational entity.
This update addresses the scaling bottleneck in live IP operations where manual configuration becomes a liability across multiple destinations and regions. By automating the 'housekeeping' of video paths—including security rules and operational data recording—Cerberus Tech is positioning its platform as an integration layer that reduces human error. In the broader ecosystem, this reflects a shift toward software-defined workflows where engineering expertise is reserved for high-level design and troubleshooting rather than repetitive provisioning. Watch for how these automated capabilities are extended during the upcoming IBC showcase to handle increasingly distributed live architectures.
Cerberus Tech's move toward atomic orchestration in Livelink reflects a broader industry shift where agentic AI and automated orchestration are being applied to live network and video infrastructure. In the telecom sector, Blue Planet and Telefónica Deutschland completed a joint proof of concept using agentic AI to power 5G network slicing services, where tasks such as defining slice specifications and generating standards-compliant service payloads were completed in minutes instead of weeks. That PoC integrated Blue Planet AI Studio with a multi-domain service orchestration environment, demonstrating how intent-based AI-driven approaches can reduce the manual engineering burden in complex, multi-layer networks. The parallel to Cerberus Tech's approach is direct: both treat orchestration as a single operational entity rather than a collection of discrete manual steps. The business case for this kind of automation is gaining traction across the infrastructure stack. Ericsson's networks chief Per Narvinger described AI-driven RAN optimization at MWC 2026 that squeezes 10 percent more capacity from existing spectrum, noting that spectrum is one of the largest capital expenditures for mobile operators and that even modest algorithmic gains translate into billions in avoided cost. Ericsson also launched its 'AI in RAN' software subscription suite, which reportedly improves downlink throughput by up to 20 percent and spectral efficiency by 10 percent, allowing operators to optimize existing infrastructure without hardware replacements. For live video operators using platforms like Livelink, the economic logic is similar: reducing manual provisioning overhead translates directly into lower operational costs and faster time-to-air for complex multi-region events. Technical benchmarks from adjacent deployments underscore the performance gains that automated orchestration can deliver. Ericsson's blog on agentic AI for autonomous networks claims an 80 percent reduction in time spent on analysis and decision-making processes, with OPEX efficiency gains materializing through streamlined processes and automated troubleshooting. Meanwhile, the Ericsson Mobility Report from June 2025 found that proactive AI agents consume more network resources than on-demand agents, requiring careful management to ensure privacy and safety. For Cerberus Tech, the implication is that as Livelink's atomic orchestration handles more autonomous decision-making across live IP workflows, the platform will need to balance automation speed with the same governance and observability requirements that telecom operators face when deploying at scale.
