Agora has announced that it is the first real-time video platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider to offer full support for VP9 video in browsers, including Safari. This release enhances video capabilities for its users across different web environments.
Agora’s release brings full VP9 browser support, including Safari, to its real-time video PaaS. The key competitive signal is Agora’s claim to be first among real-time video PaaS providers to offer this coverage. Watch for whether Agora expands the same support to additional browsers or related encoding paths beyond the VP9 rollout.
