Zero Density Reality 5 integration adds NVIDIA Gaussian splatting and Chaos

The move to a multi-renderer ecosystem allows broadcasters to move beyond the limitations of a single engine, selecting specific rendering technologies like NVIDIA Gaussian splatting for photorealism or Chaos Vantage for ray tracing based on specific segment needs. By linking these graphics directly to Adobe and Apple non-linear editors, Zero Density is reducing the friction between live production and post-production workflows. This shift signals a broader industry trend toward unified software environments that handle everything from venue LEDs to mobile AR. Watch for how quickly newsrooms adopt the AI-powered HTML5 templates to automate data-heavy graphics for finance and weather reporting.

Zero Density operates in an increasingly crowded virtual production market where real-time graphics engines are becoming essential infrastructure for broadcasters and studios. At IBC2025, Zero Density demonstrated Reality 5 with NVIDIA Omniverse integration for virtual set extensions, signaling its push toward multi-engine workflows before the IBC2026 multi-renderer announcement. The company's Traxis Hub tracking system has been adopted by major broadcasters including BBC and Sky News for augmented reality segments, and Zero Density confirmed deployments across more than 40 countries with over 500 active installations as of mid-2025. Competing platforms such as Vizrt's Viz Engine 5 and Ross Video's XPression have similarly expanded their real-time rendering capabilities, intensifying pressure on Zero Density to differentiate through ecosystem openness rather than proprietary lock-in. The business case for unified graphics-to-newsroom workflows is strengthening as broadcasters seek to reduce production costs while increasing output volume. NVIDIA announced in March 2026 that its Omniverse platform had surpassed 2,000 enterprise deployments across media and entertainment, with broadcast and live events cited as the fastest-growing vertical. Zero Density's decision to integrate Chaos Vantage alongside Unreal Engine reflects a broader trend among virtual production vendors to support multiple rendering backends rather than committing to a single engine. Chaos Group reported in early 2026 that Vantage adoption in broadcast and virtual production had grown 140% year over year, driven by demand for real-time ray-traced previews without dedicated GPU clusters. The NLE Live Link feature targeting Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro positions Zero Density to capture newsroom budgets that have historically been served by simpler HTML5-based graphics systems from vendors like Ross Video and Brainstorm. On the technical side, NVIDIA Gaussian splatting represents a significant shift in how real-world environments are captured and rendered for virtual production. NVIDIA published benchmark data in January 2026 showing that Gaussian splatting achieves photorealistic scene reconstruction at 4K resolution with under 8 GB of VRAM, a substantial improvement over NeRF-based approaches that required 24 GB or more. Zero Density's integration of this technology into Reality 5 means production teams can scan a physical studio or location and import it as a real-time background within minutes rather than hours of manual 3D modeling. Michael Burns, Zero Density's CEO, stated at a pre-IBC briefing that the company's automatic lens profiling in Traxis Hub 3.0 reduces calibration time from 45 minutes to under 5 minutes, addressing one of the most persistent pain points in .
