Pluto TV trims seven live channels, expands Nickelodeon programming

Nickandmore

Pluto TV has discontinued at least seven live channels, including four kids' channels, while expanding its Nickelodeon-branded offerings. The removed channels include 'Rainbow Squad' and 'No Parents Allowed,' though most associated programs remain available on-demand. Simultaneously, Pluto TV's Nickelodeon channel lineup has changed, with 'Nickelodeon iCarly TV' reverting to airing 'VICTORiOUS' and various older Nickelodeon programs being added to 'Nickelodeon 90s Kids 2' and 'Nickelodeon Totally Turtles' channels.

Key Takeaways

  • At least seven live Pluto TV channels were discontinued around 11:00am ET, including Rainbow Squad, No Parents Allowed, Team Spirit, Grande-ish, Pluto TV Pranks, More TV Game Shows, and Pluto TV Home.
  • Most programs from the removed channels are still available in Pluto TV’s On Demand section.
  • No Parents Allowed launched in 2019 as TV Tween and was the oldest of the discontinued channels.
  • The loss of No Parents Allowed also removes Pluto access to Figure It Out (2012), Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader (2019), and Paradise Run, which are not available On Demand.
  • Nickelodeon iCarly TV switched back from nonstop iCarly to airing VICTORiOUS today; Nickelodeon Totally Turtles now runs Invader ZIM, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) on weekdays.

Why It Matters

Pluto TV is pruning linear channels while keeping much of the underlying kids catalog available on demand, which reduces live-channel overhead without removing most of the content. The exception is the Nickelodeon game-show titles tied to No Parents Allowed: Figure It Out, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, and Paradise Run are now only reachable through Pluto’s live streams. The Nickelodeon-branded channel reshuffle also shows Pluto is actively tuning its live grid rather than leaving FAST channels static. Watch whether Nickelodeon 90s Kids 2 keeps absorbing legacy Nick titles and whether any of the dropped channel brands return under new names.
