LucidLink announced LucidLink Connect, a generally available product that lets customers stream data directly from existing AWS S3 and other data stores without migrating or duplicating files. LucidLink is addressing the 'data gravity' challenge that often stalls cloud-native production. By enabling direct streaming from existing buckets, the company removes the friction of ingress and duplication that typically accompanies cloud transitions. For the streaming ecosystem, this facilitates a more agile 'single source of truth' architecture where post-production and distribution assets reside in the same object store. LucidLink has positioned Connect as an extension of its cloud-native file streaming platform, which currently manages more than 90 petabytes globally for over 100,000 users across 4,000 businesses. At NAB Show 2026, LucidLink expanded Connect to support streaming from Frame.io, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and SharePoint in addition to S3-compatible storage, and simultaneously announced availability on the AWS Marketplace for consolidated billing. The company also introduced LucidLink Developer Tools at NAB, a programmatic layer combining administration APIs, workflow automation, linked data operations, and a beta SDK targeting backend, media, automation, and AI-oriented use cases.
LucidLink Connect is available as a paid add-on for Enterprise plans and requires filespace format 3.6 or newer (format 3.8 or newer for HTTP files), according to LucidLink's support documentation updated October 7, 2026. The platform holds SOC 2 Type II certification, GDPR compliance, and MPAA TPN Blue Shield certification, positioning it for studios and broadcasters with strict content-security requirements. Named customers include Sony Interactive, Paramount, Warner Bros., Adobe, and Shopify.
The competitive landscape for S3-native file access has intensified. AWS introduced S3 Files in late 2025, a feature that presents object-store data through a file-system interface, directly overlapping with LucidLink's value proposition. LucidLink differentiates by emphasizing multi-cloud support, unified permission management across heterogeneous storage backends, and compatibility with creative applications that expect POSIX-like file semantics without re-architecting existing pipelines.
