Interra Systems will showcase updates to its ORION, BATON, and VEGA platforms at SET Expo 2026, including new AI-driven captioning, VVC support, and NDI monitoring. The release aims to address operational challenges for LATAM media organizations managing increased FAST, live sports, and multi-platform streaming workflows.
The shift toward live-streaming sports and FAST services in Latin America is forcing a move from reactive to proactive quality management. As viewers demand higher resolution and localized content, media organizations face a 'resource gap' where channel counts grow faster than technical staff. Interra’s integration of AI-driven captioning and automated QC is designed to scale these operations without increasing manual oversight. The addition of VVC and NDI support indicates that LATAM broadcasters are preparing for the next generation of high-efficiency codecs and IP-based production. Industry professionals should monitor the adoption rate of the new No-Reference Video Quality Index (VQI) as a benchmark for measuring live QoE at the edge.
The expansion of quality control tools arrives as the Latin American streaming market undergoes rapid monetization shifts. According to 3vision reporting from June 2026, AVOD and FAST revenue in Latin America is projected to reach $10.1 billion by 2031, with FAST services alone expected to more than double from $1.0 billion to $2.1 billion. This growth is largely concentrated in Brazil and Mexico, where broadband expansion has accelerated subscription stacking and daily video consumption. Per Market Data Forecast in July 2026, Brazil currently holds a 34.6% share of the regional OTT market, fueled by a high cultural demand for live football and local telenovelas.
Simultaneously, the technical landscape in Brazil is transitioning toward the 'TV 3.0' standard, which emphasizes the convergence of traditional broadcasting and internet-based interactive features. As detailed by SET Expo organizers in August 2026, this integration relies heavily on IP, 5G, and AI to deliver targeted advertising and personalized viewer experiences. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is serving as a primary catalyst for these upgrades, with regional broadcasters investing in real-time AI clipping and massive scalability to handle record-breaking live traffic. Industry analysts from Grand View Research noted in July 2026 that live video streaming remains the most lucrative segment in the region, maintaining an 82.6% share of total live-streaming revenue.
