Magewell's Ultra Encode series, a direct competitor in the compact NDI encoder space, supports 4K60 encoding with NDI HX3 output and added USB-C capture in its 2025 firmware update, establishing a performance benchmark that AVer's NC30 now matches. Meanwhile, BirdDog's P400 and P4K NDI cameras have demonstrated full-bandwidth NDI at 4K60 in production environments, though at significantly higher price points and power envelopes than compact encoder-decoder units. The NC30's inclusion of HDMI pass-through and USB-C connectivity addresses a gap that pure NDI encoders leave open: the need to simultaneously serve a local display while feeding the network, a requirement common in huddle rooms and classrooms where a single source must reach both a local monitor and remote participants.
