AT&T is actively discussing edge compute services with Cisco and others, driven by increasing enterprise customer demand for local AI inference, a shift observed for the first time in a decade. While AT&T does not yet have a productized offering, they are listening to market demands and integrating these with their converged connectivity solutions. This initiative also involves AT&T leaning into post-quantum cryptography with Cisco's 8000 series routers.
