Sony has introduced the HXCU-FB70, an optical fibre camera control unit designed for HXC and PMW series camcorders. The unit supports remote operation, power, and signal transmission for Tally, Intercom, and Video Return at distances up to 250 meters.
German broadcaster SWR successfully executed a four-hour multi-camera virtual production livestream using Sony's Crystal LED VERONA video wall and OCELLUS tracking system. This project demonstrated real-time rendering and synchronization of digital backdrops with live camera movement, effectively reducing post-production needs for broadcast environments.
Sony announced the discontinuation of its HDCE-100 Single Mode Fibre Adapter, a product designed to convert SMPTE-311M fiber signals from HSC or HDC Series cameras to single-mode fiber for long-distance transmissions and provide power to the camera head. The device could also power 4K live cameras via a BPU-4000 baseband processor unit. The product, weighing approximately 4 kg and designed for 19-inch rack mounting, was marketed for enabling long-distance HD production.
