RIST Forum is a nonprofit industry association that drives the adoption of the Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) standard, an open specification for low-latency live video transport over unmanaged networks. Unlike proprietary solutions, RIST ensures interoperability across vendors through clear specifications while allowing individual companies to innovate within their implementations. The forum brings together over 150 members from across the broadcast and streaming ecosystem to collaborate on the standard, which is also available as open source in projects like LibRIST, VLC, and FFmpeg. This open, community-driven approach differentiates RIST from closed protocols and gives buyers confidence in a widely supported, future-proof technology.
