Teleste has announced a new ABR receiver module for its Luminato 4X4 platform, scheduled for release in Q4 2026. The module enables operators to convert OTT streams into local cable or IPTV distribution for sites such as hotels and hospitals.
This module provides a technical bridge for operators to monetize their existing OTT delivery infrastructure within the B2B sector, specifically targeting hotels and hospitals. By converting ABR streams into MPEG transport streams for local QAM or IP multicast, Teleste reduces the capital expenditure required to serve legacy environments. This move aligns with the broader industry shift toward unified headends where a single source feed serves both consumer streaming apps and commercial bulk accounts. Watch for Q4 2026 deployment data to see if this modular approach accelerates the decommissioning of dedicated satellite or terrestrial reception hardware at commercial sites.
The integration of multicast video streaming remains a critical requirement for commercial facilities looking to maintain high-quality channel lineups without the bandwidth overhead of individual unicast streams.
Teleste is launching a new Luminato 4X4 receiver module in Q4 2026 that converts OTT television streams into local cable or IPTV formats. This hardware allows hospitality and healthcare facilities to utilize existing broadband infrastructure for traditional channel lineups, reducing capital expenditure by eliminating the need to replace onsite distribution systems.
