RaceTech has expanded its London remote production facility to nine galleries, incorporating Evertz and Ross Video hardware to support increased volume for horse racing broadcasts. The project also includes a new connectivity partnership with BMC Networks to provide end-to-end distribution for rights holders.
The expansion signals a shift toward a hybrid model where remote production hubs and high-capacity OB trucks coexist to balance efficiency with major-event requirements. By centralizing operations in London, RaceTech enables rights holders to scale coverage across eight daily fixtures without the logistical overhead of multiple on-site units. This infrastructure, supported by the BMC Networks partnership, creates a closed-loop ecosystem from course cameras to final distribution. The move also positions RaceTech to compete for general sports contracts beyond its core horse racing niche. Industry stakeholders should monitor RaceTech's AI trials in greyhound racing as a precursor to automated horse racing coverage, which faces higher technical hurdles due to varying field sizes.
The expansion of the London hub aligns with broader UK industry shifts toward centralized broadcast workflows. In January 2025, RaceTech and BMC Networks secured a multi-year, multi-million-pound contract with The Racing Partnership (TRP) to transition over 700 annual fixtures to a fully remote workflow. Per SVG Europe reporting from September 2025, the infrastructure utilizes Evertz Scorpion Media Edge platforms to transport up to 20 camera feeds per venue via JPEG-XS compression, maintaining broadcast-quality latency over a resilient fiber-based video contribution network.
Technological innovation in this sector has recently extended to immersive formats. In January 2026, RaceTech collaborated with Ateme, Bluebell Opticom, and Focal Point VR to deliver a live ultra-high-resolution immersive stream at Ascot Racecourse, formatted specifically for the Apple Vision Pro. This follows a wider trend of enhancing the viewer experience through data integration; by August 2026, real-time GPS tracking and sectional timing graphics have become standard across UK racing broadcasts, provided by systems like the one RaceTech operates at its Raynes Park facility.
To support these high-bandwidth requirements, BMC Networks has leveraged Neos Networks’ optical infrastructure, deploying 10Gbps and 100Gbps links to ensure uncompressed UHD video transmission from the racecourse edge to the production hub. According to industry analysis by BroadcastNow in late 2025, these remote models typically yield cost savings of approximately 20% compared to traditional on-premise productions, driving the rapid adoption of hybrid workflows by specialized sports broadcasters seeking to maximize margin in a fragmented rights market.
