Intinor has updated its Direkt series with NDI 6.3 support and HDR HLG metadata passthrough. The company also announced plans to integrate SMPTE ST 2110 input/output and DVB-compliant HEVC to facilitate transitions between public internet feeds and professional uncompressed production environments.
Intinor is addressing the friction between low-cost public internet contribution and high-end uncompressed production. By adding ST 2110 and DVB-compliant HEVC, the company allows broadcasters to ingest unpredictable SRT or internet streams and hand them off directly to modern IP core infrastructures without losing metadata or color precision. This move reflects a broader industry shift where vendors are focusing on hybrid gateway tools rather than demanding full-scale rip-and-replace upgrades. As Tier 1 broadcasters increasingly adopt ST 2110, watch for whether Intinor’s implementation maintains low-latency performance when transcoding between compressed NDI/HEVC and uncompressed SMPTE standards.
The integration of NDI 6.3 follows a broader push by the NDI standard to move into enterprise-grade broadcast. According to NDI’s January 2026 release notes, version 6.3 was specifically designed to improve discovery and monitoring for large-scale video installations. Intinor’s adoption of 10-bit support aligns with this trend, targeting professional environments that require higher color precision than standard 8-bit Pro AV setups. Per Intinor’s internal development log from July 2026, the company also transitioned its Direkt Management interface to serve as the default local UI, streamlining the configuration of these complex IP workflows.
The push toward SMPTE ST 2110 interoperability is also reflected in recent activity from competitors like Magewell and Vizrt, who have similarly updated their gateway products to support 10-bit color and NDI Advanced features in early 2026. According to reporting from Content+Technology in July 2026, the industry is seeing a surge in 'bridge' technologies that allow broadcasters to utilize SRT and other internet protocols for remote contribution while maintaining a path to uncompressed production standards within the facility.
Intinor’s specific focus on DVB-compliant HEVC also addresses a lingering pain point in global distribution. While HEVC is common, ensuring strict DVB compliance is critical for satellite and terrestrial broadcasters who cannot risk interoperability issues with legacy IRDs. As noted by Broadband TV News in August 2026, this hybrid approach—combining public internet transport via Intinor's Bifrost protocol with traditional broadcast standards—is becoming the preferred migration path for regional broadcasters who lack the budget for full fiber-optic uncompressed contribution backhauls.
