Fubo reported Q3 2026 revenue of $1.48 billion and 5.75 million subscribers following its acquisition by Disney. CEO Alisa Bowen noted that early integration with Disney's ad server and ESPN's 'Where to Watch' feature have driven improvements in ad monetization and subscriber acquisition.
The Q3 results validate the strategic logic behind Disney’s 70% acquisition of Fubo, demonstrating how high-intent sports fans can be efficiently funneled from general sports discovery tools into a paid vMVPD ecosystem. For the broader industry, Fubo's migration to the Disney Ad Server proves that independent platforms can significantly scale yield by tapping into a major media conglomerate’s sales infrastructure and upfront negotiations. This vertical integration effectively creates a walled-garden advantage for a service that previously struggled with high churn and low margins. Watch for the November strategic update, which will likely detail the planned integration of live TV feeds into the unified Disney+ and Hulu standalone app.
The current performance follows a transformative 2025 deal in which Disney acquired a 70% majority stake in Fubo. Per Reuters (July 2026), the transaction was part of a settlement ending Fubo's antitrust litigation against the Venu Sports venture. This merger combined Fubo with Hulu + Live TV, creating what the companies now describe as the sixth-largest pay-TV provider in the United States. To stabilize the capital structure following the deal, Fubo executed a 1-for-12 reverse stock split in April 2026 to regain institutional investor eligibility, according to FinancialContent.
Leadership shifted on July 10, 2026, when Alisa Bowen—formerly the president of Disney+—succeeded Fubo co-founder David Gandler as CEO. Under Bowen's tenure, Fubo has prioritized deep technical stack alignment with Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology. Per ESPN Press Room (August 2024), the 'Where to Watch' feature was originally designed as a discovery guide for sports fans; its subsequent use as a primary conversion engine for Fubo signals a shift in how Disney uses its digital real estate to cross-pollinate its majority-owned assets.
Further ecosystem expansion is expected via a recently launched partnership with The CW Network. Per Editor & Publisher (July 2026), the agreement brings 800 annual hours of CW Sports live events into the ESPN App starting August 4, 2026. This content expansion, accessible to Disney+ and Hulu bundle subscribers, provides Fubo and its parent company more live inventory to monetize through the Disney Ad Server, further consolidating the fragmented sports streaming market.
