Amagi has named Martin Wacker to lead sales across the DACH region as it expands its European presence. The move adds a regional sales lead for the broadcaster and streaming technology vendor, which serves media and entertainment customers.
Regional sales appointments matter in broadcast and streaming infrastructure because vendor growth often depends on local relationships, channel coverage and support for media customers in specific markets. For the IBC ecosystem, this is a standard but relevant signal that Amagi is continuing to invest in European go-to-market capacity rather than product news. The next item to watch is whether the company pairs this hire with a partner announcement, a new customer win, or a product update aimed at broadcasters and streaming operators in DACH.
Amagi’s 2024 move to open a Poland office was framed as a Central Europe innovation push, not just a hiring story. The DACH sales hire fits a broader pattern, where the company has been building local presence in Europe alongside product and delivery capabilities rather than relying only on remote coverage. That matters in broadcast and streaming because regional sales coverage often travels with implementation support, partner recruitment, and faster procurement cycles.
Amagi’s 2026 IPO materials described Europe as part of a wider commercial expansion strategy, and the company has also been pushing adjacent FAST monetization and cloud workflow products this year. For DACH buyers, that combination usually signals a vendor trying to sell into both operational modernization and revenue-side use cases at the same time. The practical implication is that local leadership is likely being asked to convert product breadth into regional pipeline, not simply defend existing accounts.
Amagi’s recent reporting has pointed to continued traction in FAST viewing and cloud broadcast modernization, which helps explain why Europe remains a priority market for the company. The company also says it has been adding customer-facing scale through product launches and managed services in 2026, while its earlier European expansion work included customers such as DAZN and Grupa Polsat-Interia. In context, a dedicated DACH sales lead looks less like a standalone personnel update and more like a step toward tighter execution in one of Europe’s most commercially important media regions.
